Mahesh V. Madhavan, MD, MS, is an interventional cardiologist with over six years of experience in adult cardiology, including coronary artery and valvular heart disease, pulmonary embolism, and congestive heart failure. Board-certified in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, and echocardiography, Dr. Madhavan has expertise in complex coronary procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair (e.g. MitraClip procedure), left atrial appendage occlusion (e.g. Watchman procedure), patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closure, and transcatheter treatments for pulmonary embolism.Dr. Madhavan is a full-time faculty member, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center and affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. He holds an appointment in the Columbia Structural Heart and Valve Center. Dr. Madhavan is also a faculty member at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation and plays an active role in helping design and undertake clinical trials in the space of interventional cardiology.
