Founded in 1985, The Noguchi Museum presents a collection of artist's works in stone, metal, wood, and clay, as well as models for public projects and gardens, dance sets and Akari Light sculptures. It maintains an education center, caf and shop. The Noguchi Museum offers a variety of educational and public programs that seek to introduce the work and vision of Isamu Noguchi to diverse audiences. The museum also serves the international art community and provides loans to institutions for special exhibitions and organizes traveling exhibitions. Its education programs are supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, William Randolph Hearst Foundation and Mattel Children s Foundation. The Noguchi Museum also places teaching artists in schools to conduct programs in collaboration with classroom teachers. It is located in Long Island City, N.Y.
