Tenants & Neighbors is a members-led statewide center for tenant power in New York, dedicated to organizing and advocating for affordable housing. They work tirelessly to ensure that the needs of tenants, especially those at risk of displacement due to rising rents in gentrifying neighborhoods, are met and that they are not faced with eviction.
As a coordinating member of the Housing Justice for All Upstate Downstate Alliance, Tenants & Neighbors played a pivotal role in achieving historic rent law reform in New York state in 2019. Their work is fueled by the support and involvement of their members, who actively participate in events and campaigns to bring about system change and protect tenants' rights.
