History
Optix Family Eyecare was established in 1984 by Dr. Joel Kestenbaum. In 2006 Dr. Michelle Zalznick joined the Optix Team. Dr. Michelle Zalaznick brings over 27 years of experience treating patients to Optix. She has a large following of patients in the Plainview / Long Island and we now welcome them here to Optix.
Specialties
We specialize in Contact Lens Examinations. Dr. Zalaznick has had much success fitting multifocal contact lenses. That means you can use contacts for both reading and distance. We also recommend one day contact lenses, otherwise known as single use lenses. They are the healthiest option, especially for children because you throw them out after each use. There is no need to clean the lens and put it back into your eye. These lenses are also great to reduce allergies.
