Charlotte Country Day School, founded in 1941 and located in Charlotte, N.C., is one of the oldest and largest independent, coeducational college preparatory schools in the area. Located on two campuses in south Charlotte with an enrollment of more tan 1,600 students in grades kindergarten through 12, the school has an international studies program, state-of-the-art technological resources, and offers programs in arts, athletics and community service. The elementary program focuses on the development of reading, writing and mathematical skills. The institution also offers a number of sports activities, such as soccer, field hockey, volleyball, soccer, tennis, cross-country, football and cheerleading. The parent-teacher association involves parents in a variety of activities to aid the educational process.
