Formed in 1997, The Institute for Defense and Business (IDB) is a nonprofit research and education institute. Based in Chapel Hill, N.C., the institute provides educational programs in fields such as logistics and technology, life cycle management, leadership, organizational transformation and economic reconstruction for existing/ future leaders. Its programs include Center of Excellence in Logistics and Technology (LOGTECH), Depot and Arsenal Executive Leadership Program (DAELP) and Center for Stabilization and Economic Reconstruction (CSER), to name a few. IDB also provides customized programs for the Business Transformation Agency. As an independent legal entity, the institute has affiliation with UNC-Chapel Hill and its Kenan-Flagler Business School, as well as the UNC system. It serves the military, government and non-governmental agencies and the private sector.
