John W. Dillard Elementary School is a Title I school that serves more than 450 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school provides various before- and after-school child care services, exceptional child education and the English as a Second Language program. It has a staff of nearly 35 full-time certified teachers that provides academic classes in English, math, science, social studies, language arts, music, and physical and special education. The school offers a variety of cocurricular events throughout the year, including parent workshops, the Red Ribbon Week, book fairs, art appreciation week, writers' contests, field days and guest speakers. Located in Madison, N.C., John W. Dillard Elementary School is affiliated with Rockingham County School System, which operates nearly 25 schools and has an enrollment of over 14,000 students.
