MCNC is a nonprofit organization that builds partnerships among academic, research, government and business communities. The organization provides network services to various schools and community colleges in North Carolina. It also offers Internet access and video, audio, data and computing network services to public institutions. MCNC provides economic development, educational and research analysis services. In addition, the organization develops and operates the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN). MCNC supports several organizations that include the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), the North Carolina Networking Initiative (NCNI) and Southeastern Universities Research Association. The organization maintains a presence in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
