The Garden Club of Ohio has a rich history of honoring and commemorating the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces through the Blue Star Memorial Program and Honor Parks. Established in 1946, the program began with the dedication of Honor Parks across Ohio, which eventually evolved into the Blue Star Memorial Highway system covering thousands of miles across the United States.
With a total of ten Blue Star Memorial Highway Markers, sixty-six Blue Star Memorial and By-Way Markers, and five Gold Star Families Memorial and By-Way Markers, the Garden Club of Ohio continues to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by military service members and their families. Through living memorial plantings and markers placed in various civic locations, the club remains dedicated to honoring the legacy of those who have defended the United States of America.
