The Xenia Police Division preserves human lives and property, protects public peace and the rights of citizens, prevents crime and disorder, and enforces local, state and federal laws. It operates a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. Located in Xenia, Ohio, the Xenia Police Division maintains the Internet Child Protection Unit, which prevents the usage of the Internet as a means for child sexual exploitation. The department supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The Xenia Police Division s criminal investigations division conducts interviews, collects evidence, apprehends criminals and works closely with the prosecutor's office to prosecute criminal offenders.
