Welch Packaging Group was founded in April of 1985 as Elkhart Container. The original vision for the company was to produce industrial shipping containers for companies within a 50-mile radius of Elkhart, Ind. The company is headquartered in Elkhart but also has corrugated plants in Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Welch Packaging Group s product line includes large and small boxes, die cuts, corrugated pallets, pre-assembled kits, and standard, custom and pre-glued styles. Barger Packaging, an affiliate of Welch Packaging Group, is also located in Elkhart and specializes in turn key packaging solutions primarily for the medical market. Its core products are high-compliance thermoforming and Tyvek. Welch Packaging Group works to provide a range of high-graphic display and packaging solutions.
