Established in 1898, the Mt. Healthy Volunteer Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that works to protect the life and property through fire protection and suppression activities. It provides firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials and intermediate -level emergency medical services (EMS). The Mt. Healthy Volunteer Fire Department s staff is comprised of more than 20 full- and part-time professionals. It covers an area of over 1.4 square miles that consists of nearly 7,100 citizens. The department s equipment consists of fire trucks rescue pumpers and a ladder wagon. The Mt. Healthy Volunteer Fire Department operates under the government of the city of Mount Healthy, which also maintains police, public works, parks and facilities, tax, waste and recycling, and building, zoning and property maintenance departments.
