Founded in 1981, Hospice of Northwest Ohio is a nonprofit, community-based organization. It provides specialized medical, emotional and spiritual care to terminally ill people of all ages. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and it serves the regions of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. The hospice serves more than 2,000 patients and families in various locations, including patient s residences, nursing homes and at its hospice centers. It provides individualized care for newborns, children, adolescents and adults of all ages. Its care services include comprehensive medical and nursing, pain and symptom management, emotional and spiritual support facilities, drugs, and medical supplies and equipment. Additionally, it offers respite care, massage therapy, art and music activities, and bereavement support services for family members. The hospice also provides community education and information services and is headquartered in Perrysburg, Ohio.
