In March 1990 Carpet Outlet Plus opened in a new building at the corner of M52 and U.S.223 in Adrian, Michigan. We offered carpet rolls, carpet remnants, carpet pad, no-wax vinyl flooring rolls and carpet tile.Our specialty has always been buying truckloads of surplus merchandise and closeouts for pennies on the dollar. We also buy truckloads of the fastest-selling items from large manufacturers at highly negotiated prices.In 1992 we built two new attached warehouses so we could stock enough merchandise to meet the needs of our customers. We also started stocking furniture beginning with sofas, loveseats and mattress sets along with other types of flooring including designer area rugs, hardwood flooring and ceramic tile.As demand continued to increase, we built additional warehouses in 1997. We later remodeled and attached an existing warehouse and replaced a pole barn with a new, larger steel building and attached it. Today we have six HUGE attached warehouses with approximately 63, 000 square feet of space. One storage warehouse contains over 900 spaces for pallets of flooring in addition to space for furniture, designer area rugs, carpet rolls and carpet remnants. Another storage warehouse contains more carpet rolls, carpet remnants, carpet pad and our large carpet rolling machine.As a member of the largest floor covering buying cooperative, we offer special-order flooring at low outlet prices.
