Formed in 1938, REI is a national outdoor retail co-op specializes in selling outdoor recreation gear. Based in Tulsa, Okla., it operates retail stores nationwide, two online stores and an adventure travel company. The company offers products from all of the major brands for camping, climbing, cycling, fitness, hiking, paddling, snow sports and travel. It also offers its own line of award-winning outdoor gear and apparel. REI promotes environmental stewardship and outdoor recreation through education, volunteerism, gear donations and financial contributions.
