She developed bruises all over her body, and some dogs with really low platelets die from internal bleeding. Luckily, Puma did not, but she had to take medicines with lots of side effects. Although the Prednisone, and later Azathioprine, helped return her platelet count to a normal level, she had many side effects that could not be kept under control until she began receiving Reiki regularly.
