History
The Abbey Coffee Project opened its doors in October of 2018. We are housed in the Alberta Abbey, an affordable arts center in NE Portland. The Alberta Abbey's mission is to nurture the arts in NE Portland by providing affordable education, gallery, studio, and performance space to community members of all ages. The Coffee Project is a multi-purpose space. It functions as a cafe, gathering space, gallery, event venue, and more. Our goal is to celebrate the artistry of coffee roasting while creating an environment that easily blends work, leisure, and good conversation.

The Abbey Coffee Project is a nonprofit coffeeshop housed within an arts center. Our mission is to showcase the artistry of coffee roasting and provide a welcoming gathering space for artists and community members alike. by featuring a rotating menu of world-renowned roasters. We serve french press from hyper-local trio, Cave Painter Coffee in the mornings, and a rotating selection of manual-brewed offerings from world-renowned roasters in the afternoon. Most recently we were serving up 3FE from Dublin, Ireland, and we are now featuring Black & White Coffee Roasters from North Carolina. We also offer a selection of locally baked pastries.
