Working Artists LLC [WA] was initially founded as a non-profit April 29, 2004. It quickly became apparent that a for-profit model would be the best way to develop the concept, so the non-profit was dissolved and Working Artists became an LLC on May 5, 2005. WA started out with a physical location in the third floor, south wing of the Carton Service building at 2211 NW Front Avenue in Portland OR.
