It was a dark & stormy night... when the Black Cat Tavern on 12th opened on Friday, May 13th... because, of course... ...and is meow open for business! We got a newly renovated, comfy, laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for art shows, OEDL Dart Teams, Drag Nites, Open Mic & Comedy nights, and special events. But don't let some fancy lights and a shiny new bartop fool ya...The owners, Marlise & Tom, are just regular Philly folks, who've struggled to make something of their art school backgrounds, fought tooth & nail & squirreled away their pennies & somehow managed to convince a nice bank to give them a chance & the opportunity to share their love of booze and a good time with everyone! Stop in for a drink; grab a 6-pack; hunker down & watch the game; try our clever lil cocktail concoctions; maybe check out a craft beer, & keep comin' back for all the exciting things on the horizon!

Update: April 2021: Ok, hopefully for-reals this time... Looking forward to Re-Re-Opening on Thursday, April 15th. [COVID-safety measures enforced & masks required unless seated at your table dining] We've missed you all so much!!..Can't wait to see you all again! . Update Dec 2020: Aaaaand we're temporarily closed again (*sigh* 'Thanks' COVID). With local numbers on the rise & the cold weather not making for a fun outdoor dining experience, we've had to make the call to close for the Winter. We will miss you all & look forward to getting back to pierogis & good times (hopefully! *fingers crossed*) in very early Spring. See you then! . Update Sept 2020: Aaaaand WE'RE BACK! : ) After the COVID hiatus we took to keep our staff and customers safe, we are SO happy to have re-opened our doors to welcome back our loyal supporters & to say a warm Hello to new visitors! We've got some lovely & properly spaced outdoor dining tables, plus a few indoors -- Cocktails To-GO -- Tasty fun twists on Polish and Eastern European dishes + plenty of comfort food options for carnivores & vegetarians (& returning to UberEats Delivery soon!) -- 6-packs To-Go -- and, of course...our award-winning PIEROGIS!! Sunday Brunch launches September 27th & our Sunday hours will now be 12noon - 8pm with all-day brunch foods rolling in addition to our usual menu!
