In 1977, Joe was one of the founders and president of PLANCO, prior to selling it to Hartford Insurance Company in 1998. During his tenure, PLANCO brought in billions of dollars in annual sales of annuities, mutual funds, and insurance. The combination of Thomson's vision and his desire to meet the changing needs of retirees, led PLANCO to become one of the largest and most successful independent wholesaling companies in the U.S. He remained on as President until 2001. Joe wants to bring all his experience to a large segment of the market that is now shifting from accumulation to income distribution. Joe was a visionary while leading his company in understanding what was missing with regard to marketing and sales. Sean O'Hara, president of RevenueShares Investor Services, one of the Pacer companies, joined the group in 2007. Thomson and O'Hara worked together at PLANCO for over 20 years, to build PLANCO into a national success. Together, Thomson and O'Hara bring over 60 years experience to Pacer Financial and its companies and a vision for the future.
