First named the Conard and Jones Company, StarRoses is the trademark name of a nursery and mail order seed company that traces its roots back to 1897. In 1908, the company began focusing exclusively on roses. Thanks to the contribution of one of its founders, the Conard-Pyle Company was born. As its business was primarily roses, StarRoses became its new name. StarRoses has the distinction of developing the first rose to receive an All-American Rose Society Gold Medal for a rose named peace. Under the StarRoses brand, the company has introduced hundreds of roses to its growing rose community. Other roses include the eden climber, the bonica, the carefree wonder, the carefree delight and the sonia. StarRoses maintains its corporate offices in West Grove, Pa.
