HistoryMajor League Bocce first started out as the DC Bocce League, founded in 2004 by a close-knit group of friends all living in Washington, DC. After a couple of seasons of playing other social sports, the founders of Major League Bocce looked for a way to provide an alternative experience that was more in tune with their lifestyle. Bocce was the obvious choice, as athletic coordination was hardly a prerequisite for play. More importantly, bocce created a space for friendly, casual competition that was often meted out with drink in hand. The League instantly attracted an assorted group of people in their 20s and 30s looking for an excuse to share a new meet-up experience. Today, Major League Bocce includes leagues up and down the eastern seaboard, and is currently working on expanding to a city near you! We hope to continue to spread the love of bocce, and we are happy that so many of you have been with us from the beginning.
