Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs, founded in 1911, has represented the interests of boroughs and has helped to shape the laws that have laid the foundation for boroughs and other municipal governments. It assists its members in various areas, such as legislative representation and support, searching for a grant, and understanding the borough government. PSAB offers career development program for eligible individuals who manage a borough, deferred compensation plan to the municipal employees, and employee benefit program offering health insurance plans and ancillary coverages. It sponsors the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust, as a deposit and investment fund for Pennsylvania public units. Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs' education and development department provides practical educational workshops for municipal officials and employees. It is headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa.
