Building Inspections is one of the services offered by the Codes Enforcement Division of the Public Works Department of Johnson City, Tenn. The division issues certificates of occupancy and building permits to the construction works in the city. It also provides inspection services for various electrical, plumbing, mechanical and gas projects. The Public Works Department also consists of engineering, solid waste, stormwater and traffic divisions. Its solid waste division offers a variety of garbage and waste products collection and recycling programs and services. The department s stormwater division performs a variety of tasks, including filling drainage complaints and conducts investigations and stormwater monitoring, utility management and implementation.
