Founded in 1963, The Schmiede Corporation began as with three people filling a niche for precision contract Machining in Tullahoma, Tenn. The company works with more than 180 conventional and computerized numeric control (CNC) machine tools. It is a woman-owned business that supplies its products to customers throughout the world. The Schmiede Corporation has a climate controlled 100,000-square-foot facility on 20 acres. The company specializes in high-precision machining, special machines, fixtures, jigs, tooling and gages. It is a machine tool re-builder and CNC retrofitter, producing15 to 25 percent of total sales. In 1998, the Schmiede Corporation was registered with ISO-9001 certification.
