Allan R. Katz, MD, is a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology specialist who diagnoses and treats conditions of the female reproductive system and associated disorders. He has cared for women since 1975 and was one of the first surgeons to be certified through the DaVinci surgery program. Katz is a professor, the Robert K. Creasy, MD Professor in OB-GYN, and vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and director of the department’s obstetrics and gynecology division. He’s chief of gynecology at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Katz has been instrumental in developing McGovern Medical School’s Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecology (FMIGS). He earned his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
