History
Cade Lumber was started in Edom, Texas, by Henry Cade and his son Alton Cade, Sr. Henry operated a sawmill while Alton sold the lumber produced. In 1945, the company moved to Tyler, Texas and opened a store under the name Cade's Building Materials, while continuing to operate numerous sawmills in East Texas. In 1957, Alton Cade, Jr. joined his dad in the business, helping to oversee the daily operations of a growing company. The store opened in its present location in Mineola, Texas, in 1985. Alton Cade, Jr. became president of the company in 1988 and held that position until his retirement in 2007. The company is currently owned and operated by his daughter, Deborah Cade Nail.

Cade's Building Materials consists of a full service lumberyard and hardware store. Cade's caters to a wide range of customers from the weekend DIY'er to the professional custom home builder. In 2007, Cade's opened a contractor showroom at the Mineola store, to better serve the professional contractors and their customers. Cade's sells an extraordinary array of building materials including lumber, hardware, drywall, insulation, roofing, lighting and plumbing, paint, doors, windows, moulding, millwork and more.
