Dr. Coldiron opened Far West Optical in 1984 across the street from Murchison Middle School. In 1999, she moved up the hill to her current location across the street from Doss Elementary at Far West and Chimney Corners.
Specialties
Dr Barbara Coldiron takes the time to get to know her patients, listen to their symptoms, perform the tests needed, and explain her results and recommendations. She deals with complicated contact lens fittings, treats glaucoma and other eye diseases, co-manages cataract and laser surgeries, and solves difficulties with eyeglass prescriptions for struggling patients. A native Texan, Dr. Coldiron graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1982. When not at work, she enjoys being with family, being active in her church, and photography.
