The Street Division is responsible for the maintenance of traffic signals, signs, roadway markings and drainage systems. The division repairs lights, potholes, gutters and curbs. It administers a sales tax street program that provides resources for the maintenance and replacement of alleys. In addition, the Street Division accepts online service requests. It has a drainage division that is responsible for the cleaning of creeks, channels and ditches. The division also installs concrete pipes and maintains speed humps, street markers and crosswalks. The Street Division is a part of Public Works, which is governed by the City of Grand Prairie in Texas. The city has a population of more than 165,000 people.
