As such, her youth was spent living in different cities and states. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, when her father worked at the Pentagon, she soon moved to the Azores Islands, beginning her appreciation of foreign cultures. Eventually, she spent time in Latin American and became fluent in Spanish. She received her law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in May 1997. After nearly a decade of civil litigation practice with national firms, Ms. Regel left civil trial practice to open her own firm in 2006, with a focus on immigration, commercial transactions and litigation.
