Established in 1955, J. P. Elder Middle School provides various extracurricular opportunities, academic programs and sports activities. The school offers classes in math, science, global studies, language arts and history. Its curriculum also includes art, music and physical education. J. P. Elder Middle School has a library that houses a collection of storybooks, magazine articles, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and study and reference materials. The school also organizes after-school care and summer enrichment programs. In addition, it provides special education, Title I, and gifted and talented education programs. J. P.
