Southern Pines Photography originated from my history and the legacy I have been given. As an eighth generation Texan, I treasure the heritage and stories of my ancestors. In the mid 1800s, my family moved to Texas. Being in the South and in the piney woods of east Texas is where many of the stories began that I grew up listening to. I chose Southern Pines because the legacy I have been given is why I am a wedding photographer. I name my business Southern Pines to keep the focus not just on the details or prettiness of a wedding day, but on what will matter decades later: moments that remind you of how you felt and loved that day.

Southern Pines Photography specializes in weddings. Susanna, the photographer, has a rich family history and treasures those photos that capture not only the moment, but who someone is so that generations later you can look back and feel as if you were right there with them. Weddings are the perfect opportunity for story telling in photos. You catch the before as the bride and groom prepare and spend their last moments with family and friends. You catch the meaning and importance of the couple's union in the ceremony. And last of all you catch the laughs and rich emotions of the reception when everyone relaxes and enjoys the moment. Weddings are beautiful, and something to forever treasure in a photograph.
