Founded in 1994, Tokyo Electron America is the North American sales and marketing arm of Japanese-based Tokyo Electron, one of the world's largest supplier of semiconductor production equipment. The company sells and services the equipment made by its parent company, including machines for probing microelectromechanical systems wafers, plasma etchers, thermal processing systems, wafer deposition systems, wet cleaning systems, coaters and developers, a number of test systems and flat panel display fabrication equipment. Tokyo Electron America maintains its North American corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas, and has a number of satellite operations in throughout the United States.
