Located in Salt Lake City, the Utah Department of Human Services offers a range of community-based and support services for people of all age groups. Its division of aging and adult services offers independent living services to senior citizens aged 60 and above. The division also investigates abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly and vulnerable adults. The Utah Department of Human Services division of child and family services offers domestic violence counseling, shelters, crisis intervention, sex abuse treatment, mental health therapy and parent education. In addition, the department maintains a division of juvenile justice services that provides 24-hour crisis counseling to runaway, homeless and ungovernable youths and their families. The Utah Department of Human Services also provides parenting help, job coaching, life skills training and case management services to serve people with disabilities.
