The Utah Olympic Oval is a multipurpose recreation complex that was built with the purpose of hosting speed skating competitions during the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games. The sports complex is comprised of two international-size hockey rinks surrounded by an Olympic oval. It houses more than 90,000 square feet of ice. The complex has a 442-meter running track that features an eight-lane, 110-meter sprint zone. The Utah Olympic Oval has the Aerial Bungee System, which helps freestyle aerial skiers to learn their tricks. Its weight room has a selection of free weights, plyometric boxes, turn cables and balance aids. The Utah Olympic Oval features one of the largest indoor soccer fields in Utah and offers a bleacher seating capacity of up to 600 people. The complex allows athletes to enjoy various sports activities, including speed skating, soccer and hockey. In addition, it features a lounge, proshop, locker facilities, concession stands, and team and meeting rooms, as well as offers skate rental and sharpening services. The Utah Olympic Oval is located in Kearns, Utah, and is operated by the Utah Athletic Foundation.
