Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA provide a safe and nurturing environment for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of the city of Charlottesville and the County of Albemarle in Virginia. The organization provides low-cost spay and neuter certificates throughout the year to income-eligible pet owners. It also sponsors spay and neuter days for pets in partnership with Voices for Animals. It also functions as an impound facility for the city, and offers on-site obedience classes for dogs. Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA also offers online adoption application forms, and provides adoption services for birds, cats, dogs, horses, pigs, reptiles, rabbits, and small and furry animals. Its adoption fees include vaccinations for diseases, such as distemper, parvo, parainfluenza, leptospira, corona, kennel cough and rabies.
