As a recognized leader in human to machine interface solutions, IDD Aerospace has developed illuminated panels for more than 56 types of civil and military aircrafts. The company began in 1959 as Farwest Manufacturing and was responsible for the first lighted displays in the 707 Jumbo Jet and the DC-8 aircraft. Today, the company specializes in designing and manufacturing custom light plates, control panel assemblies and keyboard assemblies for flight control systems. It counts many of the world s top aviation companies among its clients, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier Learjet, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins and Lockheed Martin. The company was purchased by Zodiac Group in 1999 and continues to operate as part of that company s Aircraft Systems business segment. IDD Aerospace maintains its headquarters in Redmond, Wash.
