Community Action of Laramie County, located in Cheyenne, Wyo., has been serving the children, families and individuals dealing with poverty, homelessness and other crisis in Laramie County. The organization provides various services through its outreach programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start, and programs providing educational, nutritional and health care services to children up to prekindergarten and their families. The Crossroads Clinic run by Community Action of Laramie County offers medical, dental and prescription services to the homeless. Its kids program educates the community about the availability of free and low-cost medical insurance for children from low-income and homeless families. The program is administered by Community Action of Laramie County, Wyoming Department of Family Services and the Wyoming Department of Health. Its outreach programs also include housing and emergency services that offer assistance to individuals and families with critical housing and employment needs, including help with rent and mortgage, damage deposits, utility bills, and home repairs.
